So, what does Day Master (日主) represent in Bazi? It represents the person born at the particular date and time of the Bazi. Basically, it represents you in the Bazi chart!
What exactly is Bazi? Bazi (八字) means eight characters or sometime known as 4 Pillars (四柱八字) in chinese. It is a person's date of birth and time in traditional chinese calendar, which is make up of Time Pillar, Day Master (or Day Pillar), Month Pillar and Year Pillar. Day Pillar is known as Day Master and it represent the chart owner or the person born on this date and time. In addition, each Pillar is make up of one Heavenly Stem (天干) and one Earthy Branch (地支).
While Day Master represents a person himself or herself, Year Pillar represents a person's family lineage, upbringing environment, global environment, senior management, etc. Month Pillar represents a person's immediate family (parents) that supported him/her, direct boss, etc. Lastly, Time Pillar represents a person's offspring, subordinates, etc

What a Day Master does in Bazi chart is, it reveal part of your personality, characteristics, traits and attributes. It also forms relationship with the rest of characters within the Bazi to further uncover your relationship with your family, spouse, offspring, career, environment, health condition, etc
