Applying Fengshui to Business World

Updated: Jul 18, 2023

Though Fengshui practice has origins that are from ancient Chinese beliefs and cultural traditions, it remains relevant today and continues to be applied into commercial business and retail scenarios by many around the world.

Fengshui is often applied in the business world through the design and layout of offices or workspaces. According to fengshui principles, the arrangement of furniture, lighting, and other elements in a workspace can impact the flow of energy, or "chi," in the environment and ultimately affect the productivity and success of the business.

For example, positioning desks or workstations, key personnel seat position, cashier location, human traffic flow, etc in a way that allows for positive Qi energy the space to flow smoothly to promote positive energy flow. Additionally, fengshui considerations include using certain colours or materials in the workspace to enhance the energy flow and create a more harmonious environment.

Another aspect of fengshui in the business environment is the placement of objects or symbols that are believed to bring good luck or success. For example, a business might place a statue of a dragon, water feature, etc which is a symbol of power and good fortune, near the entrance of the office or in a prominent location within the workspace.

Overall, the goal of using fengshui in the business world is to create a workspace that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also promotes positive energy flow and enhances productivity and success. Businesses and individuals can incorporate its principles and practices into their workspaces as a way to create a more harmonious and productive environment. Ultimately, the specific colours and materials that are used will depend on the goals and needs of the business, as well as the specific principles and practices of fengshui that are being followed.
