Benefactor stars are commonly used in Fengshui to resolved negative energy and improve a person luck. In addition, it is also used in auspicious date selection to select a good date and time for major events, such as house moving, job commencement, wedding, and more. As stated in many major fengshui and Bazi text it is one of the critical stars to consider during Fengshui and Bazi assessment.

《三命通会》:“天乙者,乃天上之神。在紫微阊阖门外,与太乙并列。事天皇大帝,下游三辰,家在己丑斗牛之次,出乎己未井鬼之舍,执玉衡较量天人之事,名曰天乙也。其神最尊贵,所至之处,一切凶煞隐然而避。”
