A living hall with good fengshui should have sufficient lighting, preferable with natural light, this helps to harness more postive Yang Qi energy for the family.
If you have a back door, your main door and back door should not be direct facing. This will affect gathering good Qi energy in the house, as Qi from main door will leave the house too rapidly and thus the house cannot gather good Qi energy.
If you are staying on a landed property, make sure the main door is not situated beneath a toilet (as we do not want unclean energy 秽气 affecting your door Qi entrance 气口)
For those of you who have an altar (神位 / 神龛) for your religion,
It should not be facing toilet door.
Allow it to receive natural lighting from external environment but not direct sunlight shining onto it. Avoid placing it at dark corner where there’s little lighting.
Avoid using wall hanging altar. Place it on a proper table or furniture will be good, as this allows it to connect with earth energy 接地气.
Engage fengshui consultation to identify an auspicious location to place the altar, as such the altar can activate good energy and bless the family.
