Why is feng shui of main door so important for home and commercial property?

Stated in feng shui classical text “Three Essential Feng Shui Components of a House” (阳宅三要), main door or entrance of a house is deemed as one of the most important contribution factors to good feng shui of a property. The two other key factors are bed and stove.

So why is a main entrance so important? Have you ever noticed that gust of air or Qi (气) enters your house whenever you open your door and enters in? The influence is even stronger if you have habit of keeping main entrance open to get air circulation and wind into your house. In traditional feng shui terminology, it is known as a Qi Entrance (气口) and in modern context it’s a simply ventilation opening of a house.

The type of energy or Qi that your door entrance is supplying to you, depends on whether it is position at an auspicious or positive energy sector of your house, externally whether door is capable of harnessing auspicious Qi (纳气), whether the door is facing any external unpleasant shape (形煞), and more. These can only be determined by professional Feng Shui Master.
